After three rounds of action in the group stages and 24 games, the 16 teams that were at the starting line of the Mayo GAA Senior Football Championship has been whittled down to eight, and by Sunday evening there will be just four teams left standing in the race for the Paddy Moclair Cup.

This weekend sees the start of the Mayo GAA Senior Football Championship with eight games taking place across four different groups. For the ninth time in their history Knockmore were crowned as the high kings of Mayo football on Sunday afternoon in MacHale Park.

There’s nothing won on the last day of January of note, but Mayo will hope that this will be the worst day they have this year as Cork ran riot on Leeside.
